See the attached.

Your image viewer will require you to zoom or to press the 'original size' button, or some shit like that.

Image attached.

It was ~400 comments and 134 votes. It just didn't update them for some accounts and inside the thread itself. See attached.

I suspect the 'views' was also much higher - but haven't any way to know exactly what those numbers are.

My new TSO track was played like ~120 times.

General Discussion / Welcome, new people!
« on: December 23, 2020, 14:06:59 PM »

This site has been around for more than 2 years. We've linked to it in nearly every guitar thread since, though few people joined. That's fine. It's still here.

As you can see, it's set up to handle pretty much anything you'd have to talk about with regards to musicianship. The site is here for you. Use it accordingly.

Once you've made a few posts, you'll have 'invites' you can give away. If you need any invitations before that, just ask myself or @COF. We'll get you squared away. Just remember that the main subject here is music and musicianship. This is *not* a free-speech zone and we have a parent hosting company that we're beholden to. That means we've got to have rules.

Anyhow, make yourselves at home. We house the archives here, so you can re-listen to anything that was previously shared in the FNGT. We also have infrastructure for everything else music-related, including a marketplace and I can do appraisals rather well - though those sections of the site are pretty much ghost towns. They still exist and will likely continue to exist.

At some point, depending on how things go, I may open up registrations to the general public - but that doesn't seem like a requirement at this time. The invite-only system has worked REALLY WELL at keeping the riffraff away.

As always, rock on.

@COF It'd be awesome if he knew to update his email in the forum.

They can do so with their profile here on this site. Thanks!

@COF - please see the @crazy_eyes comment.

I have no idea. I don't pay that much attention. COF would likely have made a mental note if there was a username change, but I can't speak because I have no info to guess.

Also, holy balls...

Check the forum stats - like the total number of page views. That's fucking insane.

However, most of the traffic - easily 95% - is bots. Most of the web's traffic is just computers talking to computers, estimated to be in the 90 to 95% range.

I can't believe V is shutting down...  I remember back when it was Woaverse..  It's been a good run, and hopefully the FNGT community follows wherever we go.

It looks like most, if not all, will be coming with us. We've had great feedback and we had a fantastic infrastructure to get the message out to people. @Camels-n-Miller is a lost sheep, as his email is invalid. If anyone knows where to find 'em...

Newest member here. Can someone point me to the Q research board? 🤠

So it's really come to pass. Only caught the last 5.5 years, but what a ride. User is a combo of my two accounts.

I can't really be characterized as a person who *makes* music, but I can enjoy listening to some from you baguettes.

Welcome aboard.  This site doesn't get too much use, other than to archive and as a backup plan.

You can see by the age of the site, it has been here for quite a while. In fact, we mention it in every guitar thread - it's in the heading text for all of 'em. Nobody reads those things!

Sadly and unfortunately, Voat is closing. Because of this, we will be hosting our Friday Night Guitar Thread on Thursday night, at about the same time. We're aiming for 20:00 Eastern, but it may be slightly later - or even slightly earlier.

Then, we're going to rock out the clock as far as we can. It's Christmas Eve, so we'll have to see what kind of traffic we get. I don't expect it to be all that busy on Friday morning and Voat is slated to close at 12:00 PST.

Then, we're *probably* going to do it all over again on Friday night at Poal!

Please, please try to attend. We'll be discussing our contingency plans. There will be laughter, joy, and maybe even a few quiet tears.

It's okay. It really is. The Voat FNGT had a good run, going somewhere near 3.5 years. It isn't going to die. It's just moving to a new location.

We FNGT coordinators thank you for past contributions and invite (and encourage) you to get your account name registered at Poal where we'll be keeping the thread rocking

@COF

LOL I saw that you got the spam. The spammers here are actually real humans, quite likely. They must pass a CAPTCHA in order to post as a guest.

I am not sure why the bother, but they must have this page bookmarked because it's almost always attempting to add it to this thread.

It just occurred to me that you may check here for any continued messages.

That'd be a good choice, but the private nature of the material means I sent my reply via email. Check that, if you're curious.

I just went to bed. I actually slept pretty well for a night without my sleep meds. I'm kinda impressed! I must have slept for seven hours.

So, any thoughts on *maybe* inviting a few goats?

The more I think about it, the more I think it's a horrible idea, but some people deserve a place to be. Some folks deserve to have a platform to communicate.

As I ponder this, I think maybe just sending them to Poal will work. I could get a domain and install a different/new forum.

See? Sure enough, Voat is down again.
